Description
Vintage set of balance scales, typically used for kitchen or market purposes.
The scales are likely being made by the Libra Scale Co. or Salter.
They feature a black (but appear to have been originally blue as some paint is showing but could easily be corrected) cast-iron body and a large, removable brass pan for holding items to be weighed.
A set of brass bell weights, in imperial measurements (e.g., ounces and pounds), is also included.
Although still very functional, these items are often used as decorative pieces in modern kitchens due to their traditional, robust, and nostalgic appeal
