Conscious Route & The Collective are looking for a keys player to become part of our developing live project.

Keys is the main thing we're looking for. If you're a multi-instrumentalist who can also play guitar or bass, that's a massive bonus, but it's not essential, if you're a strong keys player and connect with the music, we'd still really like to hear from you.

We're an Edinburgh-based, genre-fluid live project led by rapper/MC Conscious Route. The Collective brings together musicians, singers, rappers and guest artists, with the music moving through hip-hop, soul, R&B, reggae/dub, jazz, garage, drum & bass and other influences. Live shows can move from stripped-back, soulful arrangements into fuller band and electronic sounds.

The project has been developing over the last three years, with performances including The Queen's Hall Edinburgh, Kelburn Garden Party, Meadows Festival, Pitch International Showcase and FOCUS Wales, alongside support slots with a wide range of established UK and international hip-hop artists.

We're looking for someone who enjoys feeling and interpreting music rather than simply playing set parts, is comfortable moving between styles, and wants to bring some of their own musical personality to the arrangements. Someone interested in helping shape the acoustic and full-band sides of the project would be particularly welcome.

The commitment isn't huge at the moment. We generally rehearse around once a month on a Sunday, roughly 6–9pm in Edinburgh, with additional rehearsals around shows when needed. The project is currently a mixture of paid and unpaid opportunities, but the longer-term aim is to develop it into a properly paid touring live project that can fit around people's work, family and other commitments.

There's UK touring activity being developed for 2027, alongside ongoing releases and live opportunities, so I'm particularly interested in finding somebody who connects with the project and would like to grow with it rather than simply being brought in for one gig.
