Description

For sale is my Kawasaki Vulcan VN750A4, a bike imported from the US and registered in the UK in December 2023. This V-twin, liquid cooled, 4 stroke, Californian spec bike was originally registered new in the USA in 1987, having been manufactured in the US Kawasaki Factory in Nebraska. Although the bike is 38 years old, it only has 10,613 recorded miles, which is reflected in its impressive appearance.

As can be seen from the photos, this bike is in excellent condition for its age and starts on the button, (see attached video of a cold start) and runs and rides very smoothly. It produces plenty of torque from its V-twin 750cc motor which has twin cams, 4 valves and twin spark plugs per cylinder, resulting in a surprisingly quick, agile and comfortable ride. The engine drives the rear wheel via a drive shaft, resulting in a smooth, clean power transfer with reduced maintenance.
After purchasing the bike in late 2023, I carried out some light recommissioning, detailed below, before putting the bike through its first UK MoT test prior to registration. The bike passed its MoT with no advisories and has just passed its second MoT in late March 2025, again with no advisories. The bike will be 40 years old in 2027 and will be due for historical vehicle status in April 2028.

The light commissioning work included;
Replacement engine/gearbox oil
Replacement engine oil filter
Air filters cleaned
New spark plugs(4)
Replacement engine coolant and system flush
Manual engine cam chain tensioners fitted
Drive shaft/final drive splines checked and re-greased
Replacement front brake fluid
Rear brake adjusted
Replacement front fork oil and seal dust caps
Twin carburettors stripped, ultrasonically cleaned and rebuilt
Fuel lines replaced
Replacement battery, (new AGM type)
Replacement clutch cable
Windscreen added
Side panniers and frames added.

The registration number is E525 ODE, for those wishing to check the short MoT history etc.

This is a lovely bike and a great opportunity to own a very good and low mileage example of one of these 1985-2006 classic motorbikes. This is a reluctant sale, but for genuine reasons.
