This 1998 Jaguar XK8 in Carnival Red has been my pride and joy for many years. A beautiful example of a British grand tourer, it has always been a smooth and powerful drive. Although in recent years the yearly millage has reduced, I have continued to use the car by enjoying it on the weekends on long country drives. It has low mileage for a car of its age and turns heads wherever it goes especially in the sunlight, where the paintwork really shines.

The car is being sold as a project due to the expired MOT. It was driven regularly up until the Sept 2025 expiry date. Based on previous MOT notes the front suspension will need attention to pass the next MOT and I have decided that as I do not have a garage and do not intend to keep the car any longer I will not be investing any further and now offer the car for sale.

As with any classic, it will benefit from continued care and investment. Ideally, it’s suited to someone with garage space who can give it the attention it deserves and keep it away from the elements.

Recent Work

Over the years, I’ve invested in keeping the car in good condition. Some of the recent work include:

Professionally reconditioned alloy wheels
New headlining
Fuel pump replacement
Rear shocks replaced
Welding work completed in 2022
Boot lid resprayed
Rear window third brake light replaced
Various sensors replaced
Underside recently treated with rust protection coating
Gear box oil/ service

Known Issues:

Aside from the front suspension work that is needed to pass the MOT the following minor issues are evident due to the car age.

Driver’s seat fuse blows when sat in (Chair can be moved with a new fuse until sat in)
Passenger seat control button snapped
Rear-view mirror needs replacing (very common)
Some checking around window trim
Passenger headlight requires cleaning and resealing (bulb replacement wasn’t reassembled properly when garage replaced this)
Minor rust spots around the rear wheel arches (Please see Photos)
