110,000 miles and in use, so may increase a little, in good condition and still an exhilarating and comfortable drive. Presents very well with a good interior which is a nice place to be. Exterior polishes up very nicely with only a few age-related marks. There is only one key and the fob isn’t working at the moment. But the key works the central locking and all the functions needed. Air conditioning needs re-gassing.
If you're after the full-on X-TYPE experience you need that 3.0-litre V6. You'll initially feel that this is going to be a sporting drive, more a 3-Series than a C class. Indeed, although the suspension is admirably supple in its absorption of ridges and ruts, there's not a great deal of body roll, the X-TYPE feeling taut and eager. The manual gearbox gives it a sporty edge with 0-60 coming up in under 7 seconds and running on to 143 mph.
Wheels and tyres are all good and the MoT is valid until 17 August 2026. I have driven 600 miles in the past week without missing a beat, can be economical if driven more gently with an combined consumption of 27-30mpg which gives about 360 miles to a tank of fuel. Over 30mpg on a run.
The rear seats do fold down which opens up a big carrying space, making this a very versatile car to own. The boot alone is an enormous 452 litres, the largest of any Jaguar at the time of manufacture. A well developed and versatile vehicle which was over £26,000 when new.
All in all a reliable and swift medium sized car, surefooted with its AWD system and definitely one for the driver who enjoys driving.
