Description

Solution Architect

Location: Manchester - Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite

Start Day: ASAP

Contract Rate: £515 per day inside IR35

Duration: 6 to 12 months initially

Role Overview

Our client is seeking a Solution Architect to lead the design of robust, scalable, and secure end‑to‑end technology solutions. This role supports complex transformation programmes, bridging business requirements and technical delivery while providing architectural leadership across modern and legacy platforms.

Key Responsibilities

* Design end‑to‑end solutions across applications, data, integration, security, and infrastructure

* Produce high‑level and detailed architecture designs, diagrams, and interface specifications

* Ensure solutions align with enterprise standards, security, and scalability requirements

* Evaluate technology options and define optimal architectural approaches

* Collaborate with senior stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams

* Provide architectural assurance, risk assessment, and delivery guidance

Skills & Experience

* 6+ years’ experience in Solution Architecture

* Strong knowledge of legacy technologies (including mainframes) and cloud architectures

* Experience modernising legacy systems into containerised microservices

* Expertise in Domain‑Driven Design, data mesh, and event‑driven xjnqpsq architecture

* Hands‑on experience with .NET, Java, Angular, React, REST APIs, CI/CD, and DevOps practices

* Strong understanding of application, API, and microservices security

* Excellent stakeholder communication and problem‑solving skills

* Agile delivery experience

* Pension/Annuity domain knowledge (UK Workplace Pensions preferred)
