Are you a Senior Snowflake Developer who wants to build the data platform behind credit risk reporting at a leading financial services organisation?

We're recruiting for a contract Senior Snowflake Developer position in a credit risk reporting function that is migrating legacy SQL Server platforms (SSIS, SSRS and SSAS) onto Snowflake, dbt and Python, with Power BI reporting on top. You'll rebuild existing transformation logic in dbt, help shape the future-state architecture and work directly with business stakeholders on high-profile risk reporting programmes.

The hiring manager joined through us, so we have a close relationship with them and a detailed understanding of the team and what they need. Most agencies won't have that.

What You'll Be Doing

Designing, building and maintaining scalable Snowflake data solutions for risk and regulatory reporting

Rebuilding legacy SSIS and stored procedure logic as dbt transformation frameworks

Building and optimising ELT pipelines, including Python-based file loading and automation

Tuning Snowflake queries and workloads for performance and cost, and resolving complex production issues

Supporting the migration of legacy platforms to the cloud and contributing to technical standards

Working with business stakeholders and providing technical leadership through deliveryWhat You'll Bring

Extensive hands-on Snowflake experience, with strong dbt for transformation, modelling and deployment

Python for data engineering, particularly loading and processing files

Solid grounding in data warehousing, dimensional modelling, source control and CI/CD

Power BI experience for reporting on top of the platform

Confidence engaging senior stakeholdersHelpful: SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS or SSAS experience (the legacy estate being migrated), banking or financial services background (ideally credit risk), Snowflake Streamlit, AI tooling such as Snowflake Cortex, cloud migration

Please note: this role needs four days a week on site in London on an ongoing basis, with no flexibility. A quick start is preferred and interviews are ideally a single-stage face-to-face panel.
