Mobile Applications Tester .net Maui / Mobile Apps tester - remote (see below) - £450 - £500 per day - Initially until end of March, but with further extensions

The team works remotely, travel once per quarter to Edinburgh or Glasgow. Role to End of March initially in line with client work order but expect to be renewed

Mobile Application Tester - .NET MAUI

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for a cross-platform .NET MAUI mobile application (Android/iOS and, where applicable, Windows).

Execute functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing across supported devices, OS versions, and form factors.

Perform API testing (REST) to validate integration points between the mobile app and backend services.

Validate UI/UX implementation against requirements and designs, including layout consistency, navigation flows, and error states.

Test performance, responsiveness, stability, and reliability, identifying bottlenecks and platform-specific issues.

Verify accessibility basics (e.g., screen reader labels, focus order, contrast) and usability considerations.

Log, track, and triage defects with clear reproduction steps, evidence (screenshots/videos/logs), severity, and expected vs actual results.

Collaborate closely with developers (MVVM-based codebase), product, and design to clarify requirements and support rapid iteration.

Contribute to test automation (where applicable) and integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines.

Support release readiness by providing quality status reporting, risk summaries, and go/no-go input.

Required Skills & Experience

Proven experience testing mobile applications (manual and/or automated), ideally across both Android and iOS.

Familiarity with cross-platform frameworks (preferably .NET MAUI or Xamarin.Forms) and typical mobile architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM) to test effectively alongside the dev approach.

Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, TestRail or similar).

Hands-on experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman) and understanding of REST concepts.

Understanding of mobile QA practices: device/OS coverage, permissions, network conditions, offline/poor connectivity scenarios.

Strong attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to work in an Agile delivery environment.

Nice to Have

Experience with UI automation for mobile (e.g., Appium) and/or .NET test frameworks (NUnit/xUnit).

Ability to read basic C#/.NET code to aid debugging and collaborate with engineers working in the MAUI stack

Experience with performance tooling (profiling, crash analytics) and interpreting log

Experience testing accessibility to WCAG-informed standards on mobile.
