Head of Secure by Design - SC Cleared

We are seeking senior Secure by Design Leaders to provide strategic oversight and governance across a major defence programme. This role focuses on shaping security posture, setting direction, and ensuring consistent application of Secure by Design principles at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Define and own the Secure by Design approach across programmes or portfolios

Establish and maintain security governance frameworks, processes and controls

Provide senior leadership oversight of security risks, issues and dependencies

Ensure alignment between security strategy and programme delivery objectives

Act as a senior escalation point for security-related decisions and risks

Engage with senior stakeholders across engineering, delivery, assurance and leadership functions

Oversee assurance activities, audits and security reviews

Support the integration of Secure by Design principles into organisational ways of workingSkills & Experience

Active SC Clearance or above

Extensive experience in security leadership, assurance or governance roles

Strong understanding of Secure xjnqpsq by Design principles within complex systems

Experience operating within regulated, safety-critical or defence environments

Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and shape strategic decisions

Experience balancing security, delivery, cost and operational considerations
