Domestic housekeeper / nanny

Description

The nanny side of this role will not be starting until September 2027 when our son starts school but occasional childcare assistance and support will be required with parent supervision (i.e. “mothers help” initially).
We have two children (age 3 and 14 months) who are both in nursery full time and each have busy professional jobs which involve long hours and often late nights working. We are there looking for household.
We are seeking a Housekeeper to provide exceptional care and maintain a clean, organised, and calm home for our family. This role combines household management with personalized childcare, ensuring a safe, tidy, and nurturing space. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and possess excellent communication skills to coordinate daily tasks efficiently.

Hours can be varied but will ideally cover the post-nursery / pre-bedtime period so that dinner is prepared. Monday - Friday 4-5hrs per day, would be ideal but we can be flexible if certain days don’t work or if a weekend morning would work too. Once son is in school, role will involve school pick up and staying at home with the child until parents return from work.

Duties

- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all household areas, including bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and common spaces.
- Laundry, ironing and wardrobe management.
- Prepare nutritious evening meal for family (2 adults and 2 children)
- Manage household supplies inventory and coordinate shopping or errands as needed
- Support family routines by organizing schedules, appointments, and activities
- Communicate effectively with family members to understand daily priorities and special requirements

Requirements

- Proven experience in housekeeping and childcare roles with references available upon request
- Strong organisational skills to manage household tasks efficiently
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear interaction with family members and service providers - French speakers also welcome as dad speaks to children in French.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and general computer literacy to handle scheduling and documentation - we use Alexa calendar for family diary planning.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of hospitality standards to ensure a welcoming atmosphere within the home
- Leadership qualities to oversee household routines and supervise any additional staff or service providers
