Description

CHEF DE PARTIE
North Yorkshire
£30,000 to £32,000 per annum
FOUR-DAY WORKING WEEK
LIVE-IN ACCOMMODATION AVAILABLE
Are you a passionate chef who loves working with fresh ingredients and takes pride in producing excellent food?
We are recruiting a Chef de Partie for a beautiful country house hotel in North Yorkshire. This is an excellent opportunity to join a small, established kitchen team producing modern British food to an exceptional standard.
The kitchen holds 3 AA Rosettes and offers two distinct menus, including a brasserie menu and a tasting menu. You will work with quality ingredients, develop your cooking skills and learn from an experienced Head Chef.
Fine-dining experience would be an advantage, but it is not essential. We are more interested in your fresh-food background, cooking ability, attitude and desire to learn.
THE ROLE
You will work as part of a close-knit team of five chefs, taking responsibility for running your own section and delivering consistently high standards.
Kitchen sections rotate approximately every three months, giving you the chance to develop your skills across different areas.
Your duties will include:
• Running your own kitchen section during service.
• Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to a high standard.
• Working across both the brasserie and tasting menus.
• Preparing fresh ingredients and managing your own mise en place.
• Maintaining consistency, quality and attention to detail.
• Managing stock rotation, ordering requirements and food waste.
• Maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
• Supporting colleagues and working closely with the Head Chef.
• Learning new techniques, menus and styles of cooking.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We want someone who genuinely enjoys cooking and takes pride in their work.
You should have:
• Previous experience in a professional kitchen.
• A good fresh-food cooking background.
• The ability to organise and manage a kitchen section.
• Good technical skills and an eye for presentation.
• A professional attitude and strong work ethic.
• A positive approach to teamwork and communication.
• The ability to stay calm and focused during busy services.
• A genuine willingness to learn and develop.
A current Chef de Partie would be ideal, but we will also consider a strong Demi Chef de Partie ready to take the next step.
Fine-dining experience is welcome, but attitude, ability and enthusiasm are equally important.
WHAT'S ON OFFER
• Salary of £30,000 to £32,000 per annum, depending on experience.
• Four-day working week.
• Three days off each week.
• Maximum 44 hours per week.
• Overtime paid when required, although this is not expected regularly.
• Meals provided on duty.
• Shared tips.
• Paid annual holiday.
• Permanent position.
• Three-month probation period.
• Live-in accommodation available for £50 per week, including all bills and utilities.
WORKING HOURS
The role offers a four-day working week, with a maximum of 44 hours across those four days.
Shifts include split shifts, with working days typically built around two service periods. Three days off each week offer a good balance between work and personal time. Days off vary according to the rota.
THE LOCATION
Based in a stunning part of North Yorkshire, this country house hotel offers the chance to work and live in beautiful countryside.
Village accommodation is available close to the hotel, making this a good opportunity for someone relocating or looking for a fresh start in a rural setting.
HOW TO APPLY
If you love cooking, enjoy working with fresh ingredients and want to develop your skills in a high-quality kitchen, we would like to hear from you.
Apply with your CV and a brief outline of your current role and kitchen experience to Mitch Riddle
We are looking to recruit as soon as possible, so early applications are encouraged.
