This is a highly visible, hands on management role for someone who enjoys being on the floor, leading a team and making sure every service runs smoothly from opening through to close.

You will work closely with the Food and Beverage Manager and Executive Chef to deliver consistently high standards across food, beverage and guest service. The role covers everything from daily restaurant and bar service through to weddings, conferences, private functions and busy event periods, so this is a varied position where no two days are quite the same.

The successful candidate will be confident managing and developing a Front of House team, with strong communication, organisation and commercial awareness. You will take ownership of briefings, staffing, service standards, guest feedback, upselling, stock control and labour deployment, while creating a positive team culture built around accountability, teamwork and excellent hospitality.

This would suit a Restaurant Manager, Bar Manager or experienced Assistant Food and Beverage Manager who is ready to take greater responsibility within a busy hotel operation. The right person will be visible, approachable and hands on, with the confidence to make decisions during service and the attitude to lead by example.

This role does not provide accommodation, so you must be able to reliably commute or relocate to the area.

Restaurant and Bar Manager Ideal Profile

Previous management or supervisory experience within a hotel, restaurant, bar or wider hospitality environment Strong practical experience across restaurant and bar operations, ideally within a busy hotel or resort Confident leading, motivating and developing Front of House teams Excellent guest service skills with the ability to handle feedback and service recovery professionally Commercially aware, with an understanding of upselling, labour control, stock management and revenue opportunities Highly organised with the ability to manage busy services, events and changing operational priorities Strong communicator who works effectively with kitchen, events and wider hotel teams Knowledge of food safety, allergens, licensing, health and safety and responsible alcohol service Positive, approachable and accountable leadership style Flexible and comfortable working evenings, weekends, bank holidays and busy event periods

Restaurant and Bar Manager Responsibilities

Take responsibility for the day to day running of the restaurant and bar Lead the team through daily briefings, service and close down, ensuring everyone understands their responsibilities Allocate staffing effectively according to reservations, business levels, events and operational requirements Maintain consistently high standards across service, presentation, product knowledge and guest engagement Work closely with the kitchen and pass to coordinate food service, timings, dietary requirements and communication Drive sales through effective and guest focused upselling of food, drinks, experiences and special offers Manage guest feedback and complaints professionally, ensuring appropriate service recovery and follow up Support rotas, labour planning, stock control, ordering, cash handling and operational cost management Recruit, train, coach and develop team members, supervisors and future managers Support weddings, conferences, private functions and special events across the hotel Ensure compliance with food safety, allergen, health and safety, fire, COSHH and licensing requirements Deputise for the Food and Beverage Manager when required and contribute to the wider operation of the hotel
