Honda Civic 1998 1.4i

Description

Selling our beloved 1998 Honda Civic known as "John the Honda".

After 2 years of happy motoring, we're letting John go to a new home. He needs some cosmetic and mechanical attention, further details below.

The good bits:
The car runs, starts and drives with no error lights on the dash. Everything electrical on the car works correctly.
We have rafts of paperwork and two keys for the car. The car is HPI clear. Loads of history, spare wheel and jack present. MOT'd until July 2026.

The other bits:
The clutch is high and slips uphill.
Some hair like material is coming out of the exhaust, suggesting the internal muffler is breaking down. The performance of the car is suffering, as a result.
The rear arches are rusting, and require some attention.
There is a slight oil leak and slight power steering fluid leak. This has been the case since we owned the car, we just keep them both topped up.

Overall:
John has been a great car, and has been used daily up until recently. He's never let us down, and has been on some great road trips as far as Cornwall in 2025. We love this car, and will be sad to see it go.
