Description
Honda Blackbird , 2001 - Fuel Injected .
An Import hence the Black tape strip on Headlamp - Has gone thro 4 NI MOT's fine with that , also
is Cat - D/C ? Whatever the Non Structural one is .. as been dropped on RHS hence no Decals to right and small scuff on Crank cover that side .. Check the HPi check thing .. should highlight exactly which CAT ? it is , BTW you should always do this when buying a bike / Car etc .. have owned the bike since 17Mar20 .. bought the day before Covid kicked in so easy to rem ..
Bike is great , rides great and a monster hence as I'm 61 now , and had many bikes inc 954 Fireblade , KAW ZX9R, Gixers 600, 750 and this is the one I kept till the very end .. cos it was such fun to ride and sounds great with the Beowolf Twin Pipes (Serious Growl) .. But it's not getting used .. Last 15 Yrs = 4K miles, Last 5 yrs (me) = 900mls and last 2.5yrs = 20mls .. So its time to let her go to someone who will use her properly .. NOTE that bike is Heavy (225kg , No Fuel) to move around but once get moving you don't notice it at all .
For the 1100cc Eng bike is actually not bad for MPG , versus Sports bikes , getting over 40Mpg not difficult if not raking all the time ..
In last 200 mls has had Coolant Fluid , Oil replaced and 2 Brand New Tyres .. Have always kept on optimax trickle charger so Battery health is good , Starts on button (Within 3-4 Secs, each time I crank it up every few months)
Have a GIVI Rack / * Box Avail at EXTRA Cost now * on back which is great for Helmet & gloves , and Jacket at a stretch during pitstops .. included in Sale depended on Agreed Amount . (now not incl in advertised price)
Bike not MOT'd currently but sailed thro last 4 MOT's except once were the Dipped Beam bulb decided to stop working on way to MOT so shouldn't be diff's getting thro MOT (But that bulb has previously been replaced to get it thro last MOT and still nice and bright , and BTW replacing bulb on Blackbird not as easy as you’d think !!)
Bike has a Full Tank of fuel but that's been there for 1-2 Yrs so might be a plan to drain / replace, but like I say still starts on button and Fuel getting expensive ...
When I was buying from East Side of Scotland .. I wondered about the Import Status & Cat Designation but in the end other than the lack of Decals on right and Import Status bike has been grand in the 6 years I've owned it and these things do crazy miles with v few probs so at 35.5K miles , there's a good few years of serious fun left in her .. Just not for me anymore , Down to me last bike now which is a GPZ500 .. but that's fine - I'm ok with that .
