Vintage Soviet USSR Baltic Amber Cufflinks Gold Plated Brass 1970s

Description

A rare pair of vintage Soviet cufflinks from the 1960s to 1970s, each set with a rectangular block of natural Baltic amber in a warm butterscotch tone. The amber has a soft, honeyed glow, flecked with tiny darker inclusions that make each piece entirely unique.

The stones are held in gold plated brass mounts with neatly folded corners and a stepped detail along the edges. The cufflinks are finished with classic torpedo toggle backs that swivel easily through the cuff.

Amber is fossilised tree resin, formed over millions of years. It has long been treasured as a stone of warmth and vitality. It is said to draw in sunlight and positive energy, ease tension, and offer gentle protection to the wearer, bringing calm, confidence and a sense of grounded strength.

Each amber face measures approximately 2.2 cm by 1.3 cm.

They are in good vintage condition, with honest signs of age: the gilding has worn in places to reveal the brass beneath, and there are small chips and surface wear to the edges of the amber. Please see the photos for detail.
