Vintage Red Lacquer Lidded Box. ( large )

Description

I bought this Chinese red lacquer, wooden ( possibly elm wood ) box in the late 70’s/ 80’s. It is
vintage but unsure of exact date. Certainly at one time these types of boxes were used for the
storage of rice. This imported piece was described as a “ Chinese toy box “ when I bought it. I have
used it for the overflow of paperback books and various little- used dictionaries! Condition v. good!
