Description
This is a pair of small character jugs, decorated with vibrant, multicoloured designs, these jugs feature the delightful Staffordshire Cooper Clayton 'Skipper' with a fish handle from Lynmouth and Artone 'Mother Goose / Farmers wife' with a goose head handle, bringing a touch of whimsy to any setting. The makers mark on the bottom of the cooper clayton jug shows it was made before the factory closed around 1950. I have not seen many of the Skipper mugs for sale with the little fish handle and I haven't seen one that also has Lynmouth on the back ( so far )
Both character jugs are in a good condition with no chips or cracks. Measurements Skipper - 7 cm to highest point x 9 cm to the widest point. mother goose / farmers wife - 4.5 cmx 5.5 cm
