Description
On offer is a nice late Victorian travelling mahogany chess set with rose wood and satin inlay board (Whittington pattern). Please note: 1 red pawn is a donor piece and part of the flap lip on one lid has some loss. The pieces all remain in place when travelling. The board size to the outside edges are 10 inches x 10 inches. The king is 1.5 cm high not including the stem. The chessmen are bone with the usual random flecks, except the donor pawn which is wood.
