Description
Hello,
I am selling my ANTIQUE Chinese Bronze Incense Burner, Decorated with Foo Dog Finial c1830 that is in great condition for its age and very heavy (approx 1.45 kgs).
The bronze incense burner has highly decorated relief in the form of two phoenix birds, along with a smaller bird of prey, tree branches with leaves and ground vegetation, along with clouds and is STUNNING in detail. The lid has a decorated Foo Dog finial with good detail and looks like it has been hand created/finished unlike others that are moulded (see photos).
I bought this incense burner in the late 1980's from an auction in the New Forest, and was told that it had been in the family since the early 1900's.
The bronze incense burner is in a used condition relevant to its age as described and the darkened patina has rubbed in some places to show usage over the many years. There are some minor imperfections, but this only adds to the authenticity of this piece.
I had an oriental specialist look at this 25 years ago, and he gave me the details on its age and description and said that it was in very good condition and sought after being all original.
The incense burner measures L 4.75 inches x W 6 inches at widest point x H 9 inches approx.
If you are a collector of Chinese quality items or looking for something different, this is a piece to own and is a good investment as prices continue to climb due to demand.
Open to sensible offers and if you have any questions please contact me, or willing to exchange for hallmarked jewellery.
*This item will be shipped to anywhere in the UK FREE and will be sent via tracked/signed for peace of mind for all parties at sellers cost.
