Description
Akai 4000D Three head reel to reel tape recorder in working order. I have been using this over the past couple of weeks to record several CD's onto tape reels. It's actually been a pleasure to do. I also had some 50 year old recordings on a reel that I needed to transfer to cd and this machine did the job perfectly. I have been recording and playing back at 3&3/4 inch speed. When I flick the switch to 7&1/2 inch speed nothing changes, so may have faulty switch or I may not be following the correct procedure. The recordings I have made onto second hand tape have been excellent quality with good audio levels and great throughout the audio spectrum from deep bass to high treble. I haven't found any faults except not been able to change the speed. Heads are good condition. Please see my other listings also.
