Veterinary Nurse (B3)

Location: Waltham, UK

Rate: 25– 30 per hour

Contract: 6 Months

Role Details

37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)Flexible working hours between 8:00 AM – 6:00 PMParticipation in evening and weekend on–call rota (approx. 1 in 4)

Role Overview

We are seeking a qualified Veterinary Nurse to support the delivery of high–quality veterinary care within a leading petcare research environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring excellent animal health and welfare, enabling the successful delivery of research programmes.

Key Responsibilities

Provide nursing care during routine and non–routine veterinary rounds and surgeries.Deliver nurse–led clinics and health screenings independently.Support coordination of the animal healthcare programme with veterinary and operations teams.Develop and deliver training to site personnel on veterinary care practices.Manage veterinary suites, labs, and consultation rooms, ensuring they are fully equipped and maintained.Collaborate with cross–functional teams to support safe and effective trial delivery.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and team activities.

Skills & Experience

Registered Veterinary Nurse (RCVS) – essentialMinimum 5 years' experience in small animal practiceExperience in anaesthesia, sedation, and triageStrong knowledge of animal welfare, behaviour, and low–stress handlingAbility to work effectively in cross–functional teamsHigh attention to detail with strong record–keeping skillsDesirable

CPD in anaesthesia or animal behaviour and welfareExperience in training and mentoring others
