Description

Central Recruitment is currently recruiting for Support Workers for a national organisation that houses and supports young people with complex needs. The roles are based in services across the North East region, specifically in the Newcastle upon Tyne – Whitley Bay, Bishop Auckland and Tow Law area.

Successful candidates will have experience of working with young people with complex support needs related to homelessness, mental health and substance misuse. Successful candidates will be expected to understand and manage young people whose behaviour can present challenges.

In this position, candidates are expected to provide effective day to day shift cover that supports the aims of the project, safeguards the young people and provides effective support within a harm minimisation and strengths and recovery framework.

Candidates will be working from Monday to Sunday on an ad hoc basis, covering a mixture of earlies, lates and waking nights shifts. The pay rate is GBP12.24 with GBP1.48 holiday pay, totalling GBP13.72 per hour.

Interested candidates must be available for a minimum of 2 shifts per week across 7 days.

Please note, this role involves lone working.

12 months of paid experience of working with young people An understanding of the needs of people who have experienced homelessness, poor mental health and substance use The ability to demonstrate clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures Commitment to promoting an environment, which has the highest regard for the Health and Safety of others High level understanding of professional boundaries and the ability to maintain boundaries Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills Further requirements:

In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Current valid right to work in the UK Minimum 12 months of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise) A fully enhanced DBS registered on the DBS update service or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of GBP60) Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process How to apply:
