Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist (School–Based)

Location: Chelmsford, Essex

Contract Type: Full–Time / Part–Time (Flexible)

Salary: GBP38,000 GBP48,000 per annum (dependent on experience) / competitive daily rate available

About the Role:

TeacherActive is working in partnership with a supportive and inclusive school in Chelmsford to recruit a passionate and skilled Speech and Language Therapist. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with children and young people who require specialist support to develop their communication, language, and social interaction skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess, diagnose, and support students with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN)

Design and deliver tailored therapy programmes to meet individual needs

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to implement strategies in the classroom

Provide training and guidance to staff and parents/carers

Contribute to EHCP assessments, target setting, and annual reviews

Maintain accurate records, reports, and progress tracking

Requirements:

Degree in Speech and Language Therapy

Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

Experience working with children or within an educational setting (desirable)

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

A proactive, empathetic, and child–centred approach
