Social Work Assistant

Newport City Council - Children's Services

GBP16.62 per hour PAYE + holiday pay

Initial 3-month contract (until end of April)

Flexible / Hybrid working

Hoop Recruitment are working closely with Newport City Council to recruit a Social Work Assistant to join a highly specialist Children's Services team.

This team works exclusively with Children in Care who are Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) and No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) cases. It is a unique opportunity to support vulnerable young people within a specialist immigration social work setting.

About the role:

Supporting qualified social workers (no personal caseload)Working directly with young people in their homesAccompanying young people to solicitor appointmentsSupporting with asylum and immigration-related processesAdministrative and practical support to the wider teamThe role offers excellent flexibility - hybrid working is fully supported, and as long as work is completed, the Team Manager is very accommodating.
