Senior Residential Support Worker / Team Leader

Location: Milton Keynes

Salary: GBP14.00 GBP15.50 per hour, depending on experience

Home: Brand–new 3–bed EBD children s home

We are recruiting an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker or Team Leader for a brand–new three–bed children s home in Milton Keynes.

The home will support children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties and already has an excellent Registered Manager in post. This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the culture of a new service and build a safe, positive and nurturing environment from the outset.

The role

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will:

Lead and support the staff team during shifts Provide high–quality, child–centred care Build meaningful and consistent relationships with the children Act as a positive role model for both children and colleagues Support the Registered Manager with the smooth running of the home Allocate tasks and provide guidance to less–experienced team members Complete and oversee records, handovers and incident reports Ensure care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures are followed Support children with education, activities, appointments and independence skills Respond confidently and calmly to challenging behaviour Contribute to team meetings, supervisions and service development What we re looking for

The successful candidate will ideally have:

Experience working within a children s residential care setting Previous senior or shift–leading experience A Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare, or a commitment to completing it A strong understanding of safeguarding and trauma–informed care The confidence to lead shifts and make appropriate decisions A calm, resilient and compassionate approach Strong communication and record–keeping skills Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and sleep–ins This is an excellent opportunity to join a new home with a highly regarded manager, play an important part in developing the service and progress as the organisation grows.
