Job Summary:

Simply Education are seeking a dedicated School Occupational Therapist to join our clients school in the South Gloucestershire area. Our clients school is a dynamic and inspiring provision for children and young people aged 7–19 with a primary or secondary diagnosis of Autism and related social and communication needs.

Every student is offered the chance to explore and fulfil their own unique potential. With provision running from Key Stage 2 all the way through to post–16, we are set up to support children and young people at every stage of their academic journey.

Duties:

To effectively meet the occupational performance needs of the School cohort, as directed by student EHCPs and as identified through the clinical assessment process undertaken as part of the role.To lead in the assessment and treatment of children and young people at the school, including assessment and provision of equipment where required, liaise effectively with multi–disciplinary colleagues and to maintain associated records in line with professional codes of conduct.Deliver targeted interventions to improve fine motor skills, coordination, and daily living activities.Monitor progress and adjust therapy strategies accordingly to maximise student development.Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, interventions, and progress reports in compliance with educational and healthcare standards.Provide guidance and training to school staff on strategies to support students' occupational therapy goals.Skills and Experience:

Supporting individual development and assisting individuals in accordance with their needs and wishes, and development of functional skills relating to their activities of daily livingKnowledge of occupational therapy theory and practice relevant to working with children and young adults with ASD, anxiety, social and emotional or mental health needs, and their families.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including report writing. Supportive, and with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.Previous experience in an Occupational Therapist role supporting children and young adults with complex needs and diagnoses including ASD, ADHD and SEMHRequirements

Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)Experience in an Occupational Therapist role supporting children and young adults with complex needs and diagnoses including ASD, ADHD and SEMHPerks and Benefits:
