Family Support Worker – SEN School based in Southwark
120 – 130 per day Full–time, Monday to Friday – 8.30am until 4pm
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a SEN school who are looking for a Family Support Worker to join them on a full time basis to cover MAT.
This is a great opportunity to work with families, providing support and guidance during their assessment process to help improve their situations and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
General admin duties – including annual reviewsSupporting families (including helping parents' complete social security and transport application forms)Supporting safeguardingMonitoring attendance and following up pupil absenceManaging the Jack Petchey Award SchemeCo–ordinating volunteer and university student placementsCo–ordinating visits for prospective parents and open morningsManaging parent and family eventsLiaising with external agencies and professionalsSupervising pupils whose parents are late collecting them after schoolSupporting community linksSupporting the School CouncilOther duties as required, including lunch and supervision dutiesCandidate Requirements:
Experience in family support or working with children is helpfulGood at talking to people and building positive relationshipsAble to work on your own as well as with a teamFull UK driving licence preferred but not a mustCaring and kind, with a genuine interest in making a difference in families' livesComfortable working in challenging situations with a calm and professional attitudePlease note: This position is not suitable for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.
