Role Overview:

As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in the daily lives of Looked after Children, providing care, support, and guidance. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to create individualised care plans and implement therapeutic interventions. Your patience, empathy, and strong communication skills will help you manage challenging behaviours and support the children's emotional and developmental needs.

Job Requirements

Ability to work long days with sleeps on a rolling rota basis Complete the full induction programme and all phases of online training Learn and confidently use all internal systems Attend face–to–face training sessions as required Participate in fortnightly supervisions (or monthly where applicable) and contribute to regular staff meetings Complete all daily recording, reporting, and required paperwork for the home and young people Carry out and update risk assessments, care plans, and document checks Act as a keyworker and attend external meetings related to the young people you support Support senior staff and shift leaders, and be competent to lead occasional shifts when required Role–model best practice for new staff and young people Demonstrate a solid understanding of safeguarding procedures Work towards, or already hold, the QCF Level 4 qualification (and meet QCF certification requirements for relevant roles) Or have a minimum of 6 months experience working within a children s residential setting.
