Children's Residential Support Worker

Location: Broxbourne

Job Type: Full–Time / Part–Time / Bank

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people? We are looking for dedicated, nurturing and resilient Residential Support Workers to join our team in a warm, stable and child–centred home.

About the Role:

As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in providing emotional, social and practical support to children and young people aged 5– 18 who may present with challenging behaviours or have experienced trauma. You'll be part of a committed team working to create a safe, supportive and structured environment where every child can grow and thrive.

What You'll Be Doing:

Providing daily care, guidance and positive role–modelling

Supporting children with routines, education, personal development and life skills

Building strong, trusting relationships with young people

Managing challenging behaviours in a calm, consistent and therapeutic way

Ensuring the home remains a safe, nurturing and welcoming environment

Keeping clear records and following safeguarding procedures

Working collaboratively with colleagues, social workers and external professionals

What We're Looking For:

Experience working with children or young people (residential, SEN, youth work, education or similar)

A compassionate, patient and resilient approach

Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage challenging situations

Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for helping young people

Flexibility

Desirable (but not essential):

NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent

Team Teach / MAPA / PBM training

Full UK driving licence
