Description

We are seeking a dedicated, ambitious, and compassionate Registered Supported Accommodation Manager for our beautifully furnished brand–new Supported Accommodation service for young people aged based in Walsall.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to be at the very start of something special. As the founding Registered Manager, you will have the chance to shape the culture, values, and success of a completely new service before it opens its doors. If you are looking for a role where you can truly make your mark, build a team around your vision, and create an outstanding service from day one, this opportunity offers exactly that.

As part of a successful and growing organisation, you will not be doing this alone. We have a highly present and visible Responsible Individual who is committed to providing hands–on support throughout the registration process, opening phase, and beyond. You will benefit from strong leadership, guidance, and operational support while maintaining the autonomy to establish a service that reflects your passion and expertise.

This is more than a management role, it's an opportunity to create a high–quality service that empowers young people aged to develop the confidence, resilience, and independent living skills they need to thrive as they transition into adulthood, while playing a key role in the continued growth and success of our organisation.

Responsibilities

Manage the day–to–day operations of the supported accommodation service, ensuring compliance with the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023 and the Supported Accommodation Quality Standards. Lead quality assurance and continuous improvement processes, including internal audits, action plans, quality monitoring, and preparation for Ofsted inspections. Ensure the service consistently meets the four Supported Accommodation Quality Standards Monitor safeguarding concerns, incidents, complaints, compliments, key performance indicators, and outcomes for young people. Develop and oversee person–centred support plans that promote independence, emotional wellbeing, education, employment, training, life skills, and successful transitions into adulthood. Ensure young people are supported to develop practical independent living skills including budgeting, cooking, tenancy readiness, health management, education, employment, and positive relationships. Manage staff recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisal, performance, and professional development in line with safer recruitment practices and organisational policy. Ensure staffing levels, mandatory training, and evidence–informed practice support high–quality support delivery. Maintain effective communication with local authorities, social workers, personal advisers, families (where appropriate), education providers, healthcare professionals, and partner agencies to promote positive outcomes. Monitor and review young people's progress, adapting support plans to reflect changing needs and aspirations. Ensure safeguarding procedures are fully implemented and promote a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for all young people. Maintain accurate records, reports, and administrative systems in accordance with regulatory requirements. Represent the service professionally in multi–agency meetings, commissioning meetings, placement reviews, and Ofsted inspections, building strong relationships with local authorities and commissioning partners while upholding organisational values and professional standards. Essential Requirements

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, Leadership and Management, or another qualification accepted by Ofsted for the registration of a Supported Accommodation Manager. Minimum of 1 year's management experience within supported accommodation, residential childcare, leaving care, housing support, or a similar regulated setting. Minimum of 2 years' experience working with vulnerable young people aged or within children's social care, supported accommodation, residential care, leaving care, or semi–independent services. Strong knowledge of the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023, Supported Accommodation Quality Standards, and safeguarding legislation. Sound understanding of adolescent development, trauma–informed practice, contextual safeguarding, and supporting young people to develop independence. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a high–performing team. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice. A thorough understanding of safeguarding legislation, risk management, and partnership working. Full UK driving licence (desirable).

We welcome applications from individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people preparing for adulthood and who are excited by the opportunity to build, lead, and develop a brand–new supported accommodation service from the ground up.
