Pupil Support Worker – Preston

Full–Time Term Time Only Immediate Start Available

A welcoming and inclusive school in Preston is seeking a dedicated Pupil Support Worker to join their team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to pupils who require additional support to succeed in school.

The Role

As a Pupil Support Worker, you will:

Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs

Support children with SEMH, behavioural, or learning needs

Promote positive behaviour strategies in line with school policy

Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO

Help pupils build confidence, resilience, and independence

Support with pastoral care and emotional regulation

This role is ideal for someone who is calm, patient, and committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment for all pupils.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience working with children or young people (school, youth work, care, coaching etc.)

Has a strong understanding of behaviour management strategies

Is confident supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH, or additional needs

Builds positive, professional relationships easily

Is reliable, proactive, and adaptable

A Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential. Relevant experience is key.
