Out–of–Hours (OOH) GP

Location: Oxford

Hours: Evenings, Weekends, Bank Holidays (Flexible/Shift–based)

Reporting To: Clinical Lead

Remuneration: GBP90 umbrella (Non–DE)

Core Purpose

Deliver high–quality, safe urgent primary care to patients outside standard surgery hours via remote triage, clinic appointments, and home visits.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Assessment: Provide rapid telephone/video triage, face–to–face consultations at urgent care hubs, and home visits for non–ambulatory patients.Acute Care & Prescribing: Diagnose and treat acute, unscheduled primary care presentations; prescribe safely in line with local formularies.Handover & Systems: Maintain clear records (e.g., Adastra, SystmOne, EMIS) and execute safe handovers to daytime GP practices or secondary care.Quality & Safety: Follow NHS safeguarding, clinical governance, and infection control standards. Essential CriteriaQualifications: MBChB/MBBS, GMC Registration (with License to Practice), and inclusion on the NHS Performers List.Experience: Post–qualification experience in primary, urgent, or emergency care; strong remote assessment and risk management skills.Compliance: Enhanced DBS, valid medical indemnity for OOH work, and a full UK driving licence.CVlib
