Nursery Assistant

Description

Key Responsibilities:

Child Development: Support the learning and development of children aged 0–5, following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

Play–Based Learning: Assist in planning and delivering creative, play–based activities that promote curiosity, independence, and imagination.

Care & Wellbeing: Help with daily routines including snack times, toileting, and outdoor play while ensuring each child feels valued and secure.

Observation & Assessment: Contribute to observations and records of children's progress to support individual learning journeys.

Classroom Support: Work collaboratively with room leaders and practitioners to create a warm, inclusive, and stimulating environment.

Safeguarding: Follow all safeguarding and health & safety procedures to ensure the wellbeing of every child.

Teamwork: Support colleagues and contribute positively to the life of the nursery.

Position: Nursery Assistant

Location: Hyde

Type of Work: Long Term / Short Term Temporary

Contract Type: Contract

Full Time/Part Time: Full Time

Hours: 8:15 AM – 4:00 PM (may vary slightly depending on setting)

End Date: Ongoing

Experience & Qualifications:

Qualifications: Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification preferred (e.g., NVQ, CACHE, or equivalent).

Experience: Previous experience working with young children in a nursery or early years environment desirable.

Training: Recent safeguarding training preferred; training will be provided.

Eligibility Requirements:

Right to Work in the UK.

Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to apply for one.

Two professional references related to relevant childcare experience.
