Children's Night Support Worker - Aurora Meldreth Manor
Location: Meldreth, Nr. Royston - Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire border
Salary: GBP12.87 ph to GBP14.03 ph (linked to competency and qualifications) a night supplement of GBP25 per night shift worked PLUS GBP1500 WELCOME BONUS
Hours: 4 week rota pattern of 14 shifts (8:45pm to 8:15am) - Ave 40hrs per week. Full-time and part-time contracts available.
We are currently looking for an experiencedNight Support Workers in Meldreth, Nr. Royston (South Cambridgeshire / North Hertfordshire border), where our Aurora Meldreth ManorChildren's Home and school provides education, care and therapeutic support for children and young people who have severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties resulting in complex learning needs.
The Role:
At night; your role will be to provide the highest level of care for our children and young adults; from assisting them in getting ready for bed (including washing/changing), encouraging a healthy sleeping pattern where possible and of course regularly checking all of those in your care at regular intervals through the night and dealing with any incidences that occur.

This is a waking night position; so in the quiet periods you will also be expected to get involved in some light housekeeping duties (such as loading the dishwasher and keeping the environment tidy).
With full training and continued support you will take responsibility for ensuring that all their medical needs are met including the administration and recording of prescribed medication.
The key to this role will be your ability to communicate effectively, build trusting relationships and provide the support required to enable our children and young adults to become more autonomous.

Willingness to learn and to go the extra mileExperience working in the Care industry (working with children that have additional needs is a bonus)Ability to guide and encourage supportive independence when possibleExceptional communication skills and patienceResilient with a robust and positive natureAbility to be creative in meeting the needs of the young adults or children's needsAbility to work on a rota pattern which will include working every other weekendFull training and continued supportOpportunity to study the Level 3 diploma in Residential Child Care which will be funded by us!DBS is paid for by us Benefits and Additional Information
