Laboratory Product Development Assistant

6–12 month temporary role

GBP13.50 per hour

Hayes Are you good with numbers, weights and measures? Are you a nimble worker who could work with samples and base chemical products?

Maybe you have previous lab experience or have worked within a manufacturing environment?

My client a major FMCG organisation that undertake a great deal of R&D now require a lab assistant for one of their product development areas.

You will be full trained for this role, but you will require the following skills. Numerical, ideally have experience working with base oils/chemicals, good dexterity and nimble fingered, highly accurate and able to work to tight deadlines.

Monday to Friday 8.30– 5pm , lab coat and protective eye wear will be supplied.

Role duties

Trained to compound oils and base chemicals in order to create product samples for commercial clientsChecking of weights and measures and mixing accordinglyReplenishing your workstation with products required for mixingDisposing of expired and out of date compoundsWorking with automated lab equipmentKeeping work area clean and tidyFollowing all H&S protocol Must haveGood numeric skillsIdeally worked with chemicals/compounds previouslyStrong attention to detailHighly accurateA true team playerConfident working to commercial targets Please note this role is NOT suitable to recent graduates or a graduate looking for career development in a lab setting. You will also be available at short notice or for an early January 2026 start
