An exciting opportunity has become available for a patient-focused Optometrist to join a highly respected independent optical practice in Alresford.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Optometrist seeking a long-term role within an established independent practice that combines outstanding clinical standards with a genuinely supportive and community-driven culture.

What your day will look like:

As the resident Optometrist, you will work closely with an experienced dispensing and support team to provide comprehensive and tailored patient care.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive eye examinations Providing contact lens appointments and aftercare Advising patients on eye health and preventative care Delivering a patient-first clinical experience Working collaboratively with Dispensing Opticians and support teams Recommending appropriate optical solutions focused on patient benefit Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records Supporting practice growth through excellent patient relationships Participating in clinical governance and quality assurance processes This is a role where you will have the time to build rapport with patients and genuinely make a difference within the local community.

Equipment and Technology

The practice is well-equipped with modern diagnostic technology to support high clinical standards and enhanced patient care.

Equipment includes:

OCT Fundus camera Tonometry Visual field testing equipment Advanced contact lens assessment tools Modern testing and dispensing environments Additional accreditations such as GRR or Post Cataract experience would be advantageous, although not essential.

Hours and flexibility

Full-time permanent position Based on 38.875 hours per week Open to negotiation on hours and rota No Sunday working No Bank Holiday working Includes 1 Saturday off per month Typical opening hours are expected to fall within:

Monday - Friday: 9:00am - 5:30pm Saturday: 9:00am - 5:00pm The practice understands the importance of work-life balance and is open to discussions around flexibility.
