Description

4Recruitment Services are seeking an experienced Housing Register Allocations Officer to support a targeted project focused on changes to housing register rules.

The client will allow hybrid working with 1 day per week in the Maidenhead office.

The role is responsible for maintaining the Housing Register and allocating social housing in accordance with Part 6 of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended). These activities are statutory duties which the Council is legally required to deliver in full compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.

The service is preparing to implement a new Housing Allocations Policy. This role is instrumental in ensuring a smooth, effective, and lawful transition from one policy to another. The postholder will be expected to have the experience and knowledge required to work confidently within Parts 6 and 7 of the Housing Act.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Review housing register applications in line with updated register rulesRe–band applicants who meet revised qualification criteriaIdentify and remove applicants who no longer qualify for the housing registerWork with housing nominations and allocations processesEnsure all decisions comply with Part 6 and Part 7 of the Housing ActMaintain accurate records and updates using the Jigsaw housing systemLiaise with internal housing teams to ensure consistency and compliance ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

Sound knowledge of housing law, allocation policies, and homelessness legislation.Ability to assess and manage complex cases and to clearly explain difficult or sensitive decisions to customers.Proven experience working with a local authority housing registerStrong knowledge of Housing Act Part 6 and Part 7Hands–on experience using JigsawAbility to interpret policy and apply it consistentlyStrong attention to detail and ability to manage casework efficientlyBasic DBS check Recruitment is done in line with safe recruitment practices. 4Recruitment Services is an equal opportunities employer.
