Homeless Support Worker – Swindon, UK

Are you passionate about making a real difference in people's lives? Our client, a well–established not–for–profit organisation in Swindon, is seeking a dedicated Homeless Support Worker to join their team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support vulnerable individuals, helping them achieve stability and independence in a dynamic, community–focused environment.

Key Details:

Hourly Rate: 14.25 per hourContract: 3–month contractRequirement: DBS on the Update Service required due to immediate start date

What you'll be doing:

Providing compassionate support and guidance to individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessnessDeveloping personalised action plans to promote stability and independenceAssisting clients with housing applications, benefit claims, and accessing community servicesConducting outreach to engage clients and build trusting relationshipsMaintaining accurate, confidential case records in line with organisational policiesCollaborating with local agencies to coordinate support servicesEmpowering clients to achieve their personal goalsParticipating in team meetings and contributing to service improvements

What you'll bring:

Experience in homelessness support, social care, or related fields is desirableRelevant qualifications such as Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent preferredExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with diverse clientsStrong organisational skills and attention to detailKnowledge of local housing, welfare systems, benefits, and support servicesResilience and ability to work effectively under pressureEmpathy, respect, and a non–judgemental approachProficiency in IT systems and case management softwareA valid UK driving licence is advantageous but not essentialJoin a team that values diversity, resilience, and respect.
