We re recruiting a full–time (35 hours/week) Recovery Support Worker based at HMP Onley. You ll work within an integrated healthcare framework to support adults (18+) with drug and alcohol dependence, delivering psychosocial interventions using harm reduction and abstinence–based approaches tailored to each individual.

Please note: HMP Onley is a rural location with limited public transport options, so reliable travel arrangements are essential.

What you ll be doing:

Managing a caseload and coordinating recovery journeys Delivering structured 1–to–1 sessions and group programmes Completing assessments, risk assessments, and care plans Providing harm reduction advice and guidance Supporting release planning and through–the–gate continuity of care Collaborating with partners such as Healthcare, Probation, Housing, and Employment services Contributing to service performance targets and measuring outcomes Who we re looking for:

Organised, confident, and able to manage a varied caseload A proactive team player who builds strong working relationships Flexible, with occasional evening/weekend shifts and travel across local projects if required Skilled in IT and maintaining accurate records Committed to safeguarding, quality, and professional standards This is a rewarding role where your work makes a tangible impact, helping people rebuild their lives, reduce reoffending, and achieve lasting recovery.

All prison–based roles are subject to enhanced DBS checks and HMPPS security vetting. These checks can take up to 5 months to complete. Any offer of employment will be conditional upon the successful completion of both checks.
