Our confidential healthcare client is seeking a Director of Nursing & Quality to drive high-quality patient care, strengthen governance, and lead a highly skilled clinical workforce across urgent and primary care services.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role on the Executive Team, influencing strategic direction and ensuring safety, quality, and patient experience are at the heart of everything they do.

About the Role

As Director of Nursing & Quality, you will:

Provide strategic leadership to nursing, AHP and care staff across multiple service areasLead on quality governance, patient safety, risk management, and regulatory complianceEnsure robust preparation for CQC inspections and ongoing self-assessmentChampion an organisational culture focused on patient experience and clinical excellenceProvide visible, compassionate and professional leadership with a regular clinical presenceOversee safeguarding, infection prevention & control, and key quality improvement programmesWork closely with senior leaders to shape clinical services, drive innovation and develop workforce capabilityContribute at Board level, offering expert professional advice and insight on quality, safety, and service developmentThis role combines strategic influence with meaningful frontline impact - perfect for a dynamic, forward-thinking nursing leader.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

Registered Nurse (NMC) with significant leadership experience at senior levelMaster's degree (or equivalent)Clinical experience within primary, community, urgent or out-of-hospital careProven track record in quality governance, patient safety, and service improvementStrong understanding of health policy, safeguarding, CQC compliance and regulatory standardsAbility to lead large, multidisciplinary teams and build a culture of high performanceExperience managing change, conflict resolution, and delivering KPIsDesirable:

Experience working in urgent care settingsExperience developing new clinical servicesAdvanced clinical practice experiencePersonal Attributes
