Consultant Social Worker – Family Safeguarding (St Albans)

Location: Apsley 1, Brindley Way, Hemel Hempstead

Pay: 42.50 per hour

Contract: Temporary (3 months)

Hours: Full–time, 37 hours per week

Hybrid Working: 3 days per week in office

About the Role:

Hertfordshire County Council's Family Safeguarding Team is seeking an experienced Consultant Social Worker to join the St Albans team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a pioneering model that focuses on keeping families together through collaborative, multi–agency working.

Key Responsibilities:

Undertake care planning, assessments, and reviews for children and families.Deliver welfare reports for conferences and court hearings.Work collaboratively with multi–agency partners to achieve the best outcomes for children.Support the Family Safeguarding approach, including training in motivational interviewing.What We're Looking For:

Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.Minimum of 3 years' post–qualifying experience in frontline children's services.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Knowledge of legislation, guidance, and safeguarding procedures.Must be a car driver with access to own transport.Why Join Us?
