Support Worker – Children and Young People – Totton – Southampton

Hunts Recruitment is looking for passionate Support Workers for a child care team near Totton.

You will be working with young people in care with additional behaviours and emotional needs – within a residential setting.

– Job Type: Permanent – Full time

– Salary: GBP29,484 per annum (PLUS additional sleep in payments of GBP68.15 per sleep in)

– Hours: 45 per week plus 1–2 sleep ins per week. Weekend working: Rolling Rota

– NVQ 2 or above preferred but not essential

– Experience working with young people is required

Your job role will be:

– To contribute and participate in providing quality care and life experiences to vulnerable people

– To help provide a therapeutic, structured and relaxed environment in which service users can develop and enjoy their lives.

– To facilitate good communication within all levels of the staff team.

– Identifying the service user s emotional, physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs and make appropriate decisions for action in consultation with the Management Team.

– To supervise and share meal times with service users, to encourage a positive attitude towards food and appropriate behaviour at mealtimes.

– To assist in the delivery of day care and leisure opportunities following individual activity programmes in conjunction with, and following guidance from day service staff.
