A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Cheltenham is looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to support children with challenging behaviour and Special Educational Needs (SEND) in a nurturing, positive environment.

In this role, you'll work across Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2, assisting pupils in managing their emotions, building positive relationships, and re–engaging with their learning.

Academics is seeking a caring, proactive individual with either experience or a keen interest in supporting children with behavioural or emotional needs. You'll provide both 1:1 and small group support, working closely with teachers and the wider school team to promote positive behaviour and emotional development.

Role Overview

Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with behavioural and SEND needs, helping them regulate emotions and participate fully in class.Implement tailored behaviour management strategies to meet individual pupil needs.Collaborate with teachers to maintain a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment.Support with de–escalation and proactive management of challenging behaviour.Work alongside the SENCO, teaching staff, and parents to create and review individualised support plans.Promote wellbeing and safety during lessons, breaktimes, and school activities.Who We're Looking For
