Spire Cardiff Hospital is looking for an experienced and motivated Bank Pharmacist to join our hardworking Pharmacy team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play an important role in delivering safe, effective, and patient–centred care within a leading private hospital. As a valued member of our multidisciplinary team, you'll help ensure patients receive the right medicines at the right time, support clinical decision–making, and contribute to excellent patient outcomes across the hospital.

About the Role

As a Bank Pharmacist, you will provide a high–quality clinical pharmacy service across wards, theatres, and outpatient services, supporting patients throughout their healthcare journey.

You will work closely with consultants, nurses, and healthcare professionals to ensure medicines are used safely, effectively, and in line with best practice standards. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining regulatory compliance, promoting patient safety, and supporting the delivery of outstanding healthcare services.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide an exemplary pharmacy service in line with current legislation, professional standards, and clinical requirementsPerform clinical screening and review of prescriptions to ensure safe and effective medicines useOffer expert advice to consultants, clinicians, and patients regarding medication managementSupport the safe procurement, storage, supply, and administration of medicines throughout the hospitalPromote safe medicines management and contribute to patient safety initiativesWork collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding patient careEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements, governance processes, and professional standardsContribute to service improvement initiatives and the ongoing development of pharmacy servicesMaintain accurate patient records and pharmacy documentationSupport colleagues and share clinical knowledge to promote best practice across the hospitalContract: Bank

Days/Hours: Monday – Friday 08:30 – 17:00 and Saturday 08:30 – 17:00, on a flexible bank basis

Who we're looking for:

Qualified Pharmacist with current GPhC registration and no restrictions on practicePrevious hospital pharmacy experience (minimum two years desirable)Experience working within a clinical pharmacy environmentSAP experience desirable but not essentialStrong clinical knowledge and sound professional judgementExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsA compassionate, patient–focused approach to careReliable, organised, and able to work independently when requiredA positive team player who enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues across the hospitalCommitted to delivering the highest standards of patient care and safetyBenefits:
