Are you motivated by supporting and helping others?

We are looking for a dedicated Aspiring Educational Psychologist/Learning Support Assistant in Woking to support children with Special Needs, such as ASD, SEMH and associated challenging behaviours. You will be joining a friendly, energetic and creative team!

The School:

This is a special school in Woking catering for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), and many with co–occuring social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).

As a Aspiring Educational Psychologist/Learning Support Assistant, you will have the opportunity to 'get your foot in the door' and work closely with the therapists, enabling you to expand your knowledge, skillset, and gain relevant practical experience, which is invaluable for you, as an Aspiring Educational Psychologist. Also an ideal opportunity for aspiring Occupational Therapists, Clinical Psychologists and Speech and Language Therapists.

Professional Skills & Requirements for the role of an Aspiring Educational Psychologist/LSA:

Willing to work 1:1 and in small groups with studentsAble to plan learning activities to suit pupil ability with support from a teacherAble to encourage the development of social skills and support students' individual needsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAble to provide academic and pastoral supportExperience working with young people with special needs is desirable but not essentialPersonal Qualities

Passionate about helping children to achieve their full potentialAble to build confidence and motivationAbility to build robust and effective relationships with studentsAbility to remain calm and resilient when placed in situations of stress or conflictAble to commute to WokingCaring, compassionate, and a good listener– 5 days a week (Mon–Fri) & 93– 105 per day – dependant on skills and experience

– Excellent on–site training, support and CPD is provided to ensure safeguarding of students
