Description: Harley-Davidson have been producing motorcycles since 1903 and are one of the most famous motorcycle companies in existence,Founded in Milwaukee and known for big V-twin engined cruisers and custom models,The XR750 was developed from the highly successful outgoing KR750 and produced to compete in the new and very competitive AMA racing series,Harley-Davidson race team manager, Dick O’Brien, was the driving force behind the XR750,Officially launched in 1970 the XR750 ended up being the most successful racing motorcycle in AMA history, winning more races than any other machine at the time,This early production, pre-all alloy engined example is superbly presented in running order with only one hour's use since a Duncan Keller full engine rebuild,The bike was purchased in Alaska with possible Mark Brelsford connection and completely restored by our fastidious vendor to its current condition,Parts were sourced from around the world over a number of years to create a bike that was as close to the original as possible using factory correct parts including many unobtainable NOS parts including tyres, wheels, grips and chain,Fitted with the correct Fairbanks magneto (no generator on these models) and Tillotson HD5A carburettor,Other correct parts include Ceriani front forks, Girling rear suspension, Arces yokes and a ‘big style’ CEV 'kill switch',Demonstrated by our vendor in 2022 at Peterborough Speedway track at the MCN Festival and featured in the ‘Sideburn’ magazine issue number 53 (copy included),Probably one of the best examples in terms of originality and accuracy in the world,Complete with some receipts and associated paperwork,
