We had a knock on the door from Leon (Absolute Roofing and Home Maintenance) who had been cleaning /de-mossing the roof of one of our neighbours. He noted that our gutters were in very dirty condition and probably blocked and asked if we would like them cleaned. After a quick haggle we agreed a price and Leon did them there and then. We had also been trying to get our moss-covered roof cleaned for quite a while. Since he had said that he had cleaned our neighbour’s roof, I asked if he could quote for cleaning our roof. The quote was very competitive with that given by a local roofer who never came back to us and much less than that given by a larger concern who wanted to do much than just clean the roof. Our neighbour was pleased with the job that Leon had done on his roof so we accepted the quote. Leon and co-worker returned within a few days and cleaned our large roof over the next two days. As is usual with this type of job, he found several ridge tiles to be loose and re-pointed them (at additional cost). The result was to a high standard with which were very pleased and he cleaned up the debris efficiently at the end. One point to note is that payment was required immediately the job was finished but perhaps this is not surprising in that cash flow can be difficult for small traders.

Leon and his team cleaned my gutters and replaced several tiles, plus re-cemented some ridge tiles. Did a good job!

At first I was very impressed as I was told that they will come and have a look at the leak the next day and will give a quote for free. However, I then received a message later on that they have looked at the property on google maps and the cost will be more than a grand. They haven't even seen the leak to know. When I called them back to clarify that they haven't seen the leak yet, the gentleman was quite rude over the phone and quite happy for me to say that I am not interested anymore if they are going to give me a quote from looking at google maps.
