The guitar is in excellent condition. Original hard case, certificate and case candy. A stunning guitar that really does show just how good a hand-built guitar can look, sound and feel. Guitars from the Custom Shop, like this one, sold for more than £5,500 back in 2004 when it was made.

I was told that this has always been a collectors guitar and it really shows no signs of being regularly played/gigged. There are a few small marks and impressions on the guitar, as would be expected for a guitar that is 22 years old. No fret-wear. Fret protector always on the guitar when stored (see photo).

Some information about this guitar:
This is a 1st Generation Japanese ‘Custom Shop’ Zemaitis, and this one has been exhibited on the their first Namm show exhibition in 2006. It was one of the highest-end models of Zemaitis Japan at that time and is currently completely discontinued, making it difficult to find in the market. Guitars made during this period are also known as the closest products to the brand's founder Tony Zemaitis. Each guitar was completely handcrafted by a small group of high skilled Japanese luthiers. The high end materials such as Honduras mahogany and the highest-grade ebony were used at that time. Zemaitis also exclusively created a silver-plated string board and hand-crafted solid duralumin tailpiece, allowing the strings to transmit to the body more stably, making the sound more resonant and the sustain more enduring.

I have an print-out of an email from the Marketing Coordinator at Zemaitis Guitars dated February 2012 (before I owned the guitar) that confirms the following:

The guitar was made in 2004
This is the actual guitar that was exhibited at the 2006 Naam show !
2006 was the first Naam Show that Zemaitis exhibited at
The email states that they picked the best guitar they had to exhibit at the show

Both of the back plates were hand engraved in UK by the master Danny O’Brien.
