These are great-sounding guitars.
Sigmas were built in Japan under license from C.F. Martin & Co. from
1970 until 1983, and those from this era are considered the best. Rest
assured that this is a quality guitar.
It's been stored away for a few years. The action is rather high (see
photo of a 5p coin at 12th fret), so the guitar would require a service
to improve intonation and playability (hence the relatively low price -
these usually go for £600 and above). It has an adjustable height bridge.
Recently restrung with D'Addario Nickel Bronze 12-53 gauge strings
(these bring out the woodiness of the guitar, however, I prefer
D'Addario XS phosphor bronze strings, as I find them easier on the fingertips).
Spruce top, rosewood back and sides. The fretboard is smooth.
The tuning heads are firm, keeping the guitar in stable tune.
It does not come with a case.
