McNally OM-31 acoustic guitar - Made in Ireland in 2023 by Ciaran McNally

Description

Absolutely gorgeous McNally guitar, Ciaran has been making guitars for 13 years. Having worked for both Lowden guitars and Atkin guitars over the past few years, Ciaran has drawn inspiration from both to combine the style of European guitars with the best tonal qualities of traditional American guitars. The result is a more versatile instrument capable of fingerpicking, flat picking and strumming. In Ciaran's own words 'I take the warmth and complexity of Celtic guitars and add some of the definition and fundamental qualities of great American guitars. The result is more versatile'.

As the pictures attest this is a fine looking guitar but it also sounds amazing. The Cedar top gives it a fast attack, is tendency to brightness tempered by the wonderfully figured Indian Rosewood back and sides. The aesthetics of the fine woods are accentuated by the flamed maple binding and the addition of ebony to the inner edge of the sound-hole, and on the back of the headstock as well as the front.

With it on your lap it is evident that this is an instrument from an individual builder rather than something mass-produced and the quality and finish is top drawer.
